I'm A Giant Challenge Week 1

>>  4.10.11

First week of the challenge: Planning & 1:48 scaled Model!

cost for this time around: $0
I found some old mounting board that turned yellow since I've kept it at least since 4 years (?) ago - again, left over from my college days.

As always, (I think) I over-did it. XP
My plan is to make 1:24 scaled cafe this time. (Hrmm, time to think of a new name... Kuroneko Cafe v3? hahaha)
I want to make it more carefully this time around, with more slide-able walls and floor so I can take picture of each part easily.

So to reduce the mount of waste, this time I thought of making a 1:48 mock-up first to figure out the mechanism. As you can see below. :)

1st floor

slide-able side

slide-able front

2nd floor

stairs!

tatami room with slide-able side

Moving onto the real 1:24 cafe! Where should I start? :)

Wow! That is a fantastic start of your project. I like the idea of removable walls. It makes it much easier to work on the project as well as photographing it when it is finished. A lot of the walls in my big dolls house can slide out as well.
Looking forward to your progress!

Hi Josje, I love your dollhouse! I've been trying to catch-up with all your posts (I will finish read all soon.)
Yes, removable wall is a must especially when making even smaller things; I even add more removable parts in the 1:24 cafe. It's a more couple work, but I think it'll be worthed! :)

mintwonderland, come and join this challenge! -i believe- you can decorate any dollhouse, any size, or even a simple room box to start with (but I believe it'll grow bigger and bigger by the time you finish :) )

Seguiré la construcción de tu bar. Yo estoy terminando otro pero a escala 1/12.
A una escala tan pequeña es muy difícil trabar, enhorabuena por tu trabajo.

Besos, Narán
